Our policy
Bulletin Wires respects the rights of creators. We remove or disable access to material when we receive a valid copyright notice. We also end access for repeat infringers in appropriate cases.
Scope
This page explains how to send a copyright complaint or a counter notice. It follows the format of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and similar laws. You do not need a lawyer to contact us, but your notice must include the required details.
Before you file
Check whether the use may be permitted by law. Common examples include fair dealing or fair use, quotes with attribution, or news reporting that uses short excerpts. If you still believe your rights are infringed, follow the steps below.
How to send a copyright notice
Send a written notice to our legal desk with all of the following details:
- Your full name, postal address, email address, and a phone number we can use to reach you.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed. If there are multiple works, list a representative selection.
- Identification of the material you believe is infringing. Include the full URL on our site and enough information to locate the exact content.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full legal name counts as an electronic signature.

What happens next
We review your notice to confirm it is complete. If valid, we may remove or disable access to the material. We notify the uploader or author when possible. In suitable cases, we may provide the text of your notice to that person.
How to send a counter notice
If your content was removed and you believe it was taken down in error or that you have the right to use it, send a counter notice that includes:
- Your full name, postal address, email address, and a phone number we can use to reach you.
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal. Include the full URL.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed due to a mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or that person’s agent.
- Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full legal name counts as an electronic signature.

Restoration of content
If we receive a valid counter notice, we may restore the material unless the original complainant informs us within a reasonable time that a court action has been filed seeking to restrain the use of the material.
Repeat infringement
We may limit or end access for users who repeatedly infringe copyrights. We may also remove accounts or bylines that are linked to repeated violations.
Misrepresentation
Submitting false claims can carry legal consequences. Only send notices for material you own or are authorized to protect. If you are unsure, seek advice before filing.
Agent authorization
If you file on behalf of someone else, include a clear statement that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner and attach proof of that authority when possible.
Use of images, video, and embeds
If you believe an image, clip, or embed on our site infringes your rights, send a notice with the direct URL, the source of the original work, and evidence of ownership. For photographs, include the original capture data or a link to a portfolio under your control that predates our publication.
