Editorial Policy

Our mission

Bulletin Wires exists to deliver clear, timely reporting that helps readers make sense of sport and daily news in India. Speed matters, but accuracy comes first. We publish only what we can stand behind.

What we publish

We cover breaking updates, match reports, analysis, explainers, interviews, and human stories connected to sport and public interest news. Opinion pieces are labeled as Opinion so you can tell them apart from straight reporting.

Sourcing and verification

We verify facts before publication. Names, numbers, times, and quotes are checked against primary documents, on-the-record sources, or direct observation. If a claim cannot be confirmed, it does not go in the story. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is important, not available otherwise, and the source faces a real risk. An editor must know the source’s identity and why anonymity is justified.

Corrections and updates

If we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and note what changed. Minor edits for style or clarity do not carry a note. Material updates are timestamped at the foot of the article. Readers can request a correction by emailing corrections@bulletinwires.com with the headline, the line in question, and supporting details.

Conflicts of interest

Reporters and editors must avoid financial or personal conflicts related to the subjects they cover. Any unavoidable conflict is disclosed in the story and the assignment is moved to another editor where possible. Freelancers must declare recent work done for teams, leagues, sponsors, or agencies.

Use of technology and AI

We use AI tools only for research assistance, transcription clean-ups, and routine checks. AI does not publish for us. Every story is outlined, written, or fully edited by a human editor who is accountable for the final copy. We never run AI-generated text or images without clear human review and labeling.

Attribution and plagiarism

We credit original reporting. Quotes and statistics are attributed so readers can understand the context. Plagiarism is not tolerated. Lifting text, images, or unique reporting from others without attribution is a firing offense.

Interviews and quotes

Quotes are accurate and faithful to what was said. We may trim for length or clarity without changing meaning. Off-the-record and background terms are agreed before the interview begins.

Photo, video, and graphics

We prefer original visuals. When we use agency or third-party content, licensing is verified. We do not stage news photos. Visual edits are limited to standard toning that does not mislead the viewer.

Headlines and framing

Headlines should be precise, informative, and proportional to the facts. No clickbait. Numbers in headlines must match the body of the story.

Data and statistics

We publish methodology for data-heavy pieces in plain language. When models or projections are used, we explain key assumptions and known limitations.

Safety and sensitivity

We avoid publishing details that needlessly identify private individuals in distress or that could cause harm. For legal matters, we follow applicable law and standard newsroom practice on naming and identification.

Advertising and independence

Commercial partners do not control our editorial decisions. Sponsored content is labeled Sponsored at the top of the page and follows a separate review process. Editorial staff do not accept gifts of value. Necessary travel support is disclosed in the story.

Social media conduct

Our journalists act professionally online. Private opinions must not compromise reporting or reveal confidential sources. Breaking details are published on our site first whenever practical.

Sourcing in sports coverage

Match reports and transfer stories prioritize on-the-record information from teams, leagues, athletes, and officials. Rumors are treated as such and must be verified by multiple independent sources before publication.

Archiving and updates

We retain published stories as a public record. When significant new facts emerge, we update the original piece or publish a follow-up and link the two. We do not unpublish content except for legal reasons or grave safety concerns, and we will note the action.

Reader contributions

Comments, tips, photos, and documents are welcome. By submitting, you confirm you have the right to share the material. We may edit submissions for length, clarity, and legal risk. We decline or remove abusive or unlawful material.
